Neuroinformatics as Minor (Nebenfach)

Neuroinformatics as a minor subject offers students a choice of selected lectures (L) and exercises (E) from the Institute of Neuroinformatics and of related lectures, exercises and semester works from other institutes and faculties. There are two lists. List A contains modules offered by the Institute of Neuroinformatics (Wahlpflichtmodule) and List B contains modules offered by other faculties and institutes (Wahlmodule). Students must select a set of modules from each list, where List B is to be considered incomplete -- other modules can be selected after consultation with the studies coordinator (minorini.phys.ethz.ch).

Currently Neuroinformatics is offered as a minor subject in the following faculties, each with their specific requirements:

Faculty of Science

  1. Bachelor level as a small minor (20 CPs)
    • 12 CPs from list A
    • 8 CPs from lists A and B
  2. Bachelor level as a big minor (45 Cps)
    • 25 CPs from list A
    • 20 CPs from lists A and B
  3. Master level (20 Cps)
    • 12 CPs from list A
    • 8 CPs from lists A and B

Faculty of Arts (Philosophical Faculty)

  1. Bachelor level as a small minor (30 CPs)
    • 12 CPs from list A
    • 18 CPs from lists A and B
  2. Bachelor level as a big minor (60 CPs)
    • 25 CPs from list A
    • 26 CPs from lists A and B
    • 9 CPs from semester work
  3. Master level as an extension to a minor at the Bachelor level (15 CPs)
    • 10 CPs from list A
    • 5 CPs from lists A and B

Faculty of Economics, Business Administration and Information Technology

  1. Bachelor level as a small minor (45 CPs)
    • 25 CPs from list A
    • 20 CPs from lists A and B
    • From the 45 CPs, 15 CPS will already be obtained during the assessment year with three basic lectures (See Reglement at www.ifi.uzh.ch/bsc)
